Section 31

Penalty on unregistered persons representing themselves to be registered

Any person, who, not being registered under the provisions of this Act, assumes or uses the name or title of a register nurse, midwife, assistant midwife, 4 [an auxiliary nurse-midwife, or health visitor] or use any name, title, addition, description, signboard or other such thing implying that such person is a registered nurse, midwife, assistant midwife, 4 [an auxiliary nurse-midwife, or health visitor] as the case may be, shall be punishable, on conviction, with a fine which may in the case of a first offence, extend to fifty rupees and, in the case of a second or any subsequent offence, to three hundred rupees.
