9. (1) The Governor of Uttar Pradesh shall be the Chancellor of the University: Provided that Raghviyo Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya shall be the Chancellor for life. (2) The Chancellor shall, by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University. (3) The Chancellor shall have such powers as may be conferred on him by this Act or the Statutes made thereunder. (4) Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary degree or distinction shall be subject to the confirmation of the Chancellor. (5) The Chancellor shall, if present, preside at the convocation of the University held for conferring degrees and may delegate to any officer of the University such of his powers as he may consider necessary.
