28. The Academic Council shall be the academic body of the University and shall, subject to the provision of this Act and the Statutes, have power of control and general regulation of and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of instructions, education and examination of the University and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred upon or assigned to it by this Act or the Statutes. It shall have the right to advise the Executive Council on all academic matters .
