(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 29 or section 30, until the constitution of a selection Committee referred to therein, a University Special Pro- Professor or a University Reader or a University Lecturer shall be appointed by vision for the Tripura University Council, referred to in sub-section (i) of section 54 on Selection of candidates the recommendation of a Selection Committee, constituted by the said Council for teaching in such manner as it thinks fit, which shall include as its member at least one posts. person not holding any office of profit under the University and having special knowledge of the subject, which the Professor or the Reader or the Lecturer, as the case may be, will teach, nominated by the Chancellor. (2) If the Tripura University Council does not accept the recommen- dations of the Selection Committee the provisions of sub-section (2) of Section 30 shall apply mutatis mutandis.
