The Senate shall be an advisory body and subject to the provisions of this Act, it shall have the following powers and functions, namely :- Powers and functions of (i) to review from time to time, the broad policies and programmes the Senate. of the University and to suggest measures for the improvement and development of the University ; (ii) to consider and pass resolutions on the annual report and the annual accounts of the University and the audit report thereon ; I . lriserrcd by The Tripura University (Amendnlent) Acr, 1990, w.ef. 10.9.1990. 2 . (iii) to advise the Chancellor in respect of any matter which may be referred to it for advice, and to perform such other duties and exercise such other functions as may be assigned to it by this Act or the Statutes or by the Chancellor ; (iv) to review from time to time the activities of the Syndicate and issue guidelines where necessary.
