(i) The RegistTar shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Syndicate on the recomrilendation of a Committee consisting of the Vice- Chancellor as Chairman, two nominees of the Syndicate, a nominee of the Chancellor and a nominee of the State Govemment. He shall be appointed for such period and on such tem1s and conditions as may be prescribed by the statues; (ii) The Registrar may resi'gn his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice- Chancellor; (iii) If the Registrar is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers or pcr'fom1 the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor may, with the approval of the Syndicate, appoint a teacher of the University or an officer of the University temporarily for a total period not exceeding six months to exercise the powers and perfonn the duties of the Registrar.
