(1) The owner, driver or conductor of a public conveyance used for the conveyance of passengers at separate fares, shall not convey therein a person whom he knows to be suffering from an infectious disease. (2) The owner or driver or any other public conveyance, notwithstanding that no notice has been issued by the Commissioner under section 558, may refuse to convey therein any person suffering from an infectious disease until he has been paid a sum sufficient to cover any loss and expense which will be incurred by him in connection with the disinfection of the conveyance. (3) If a person suffering from an infectious disease is conveyed in a public conveyance, the person incharge thereof shall as soon as practicable and before permitting any other person to enter the conveyance cause the conveyance to be disinfected.
