(1) The *[Academic Senate] shall have power to make regulations subject to the provisions of this Act, and such regulations may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:- (a) the admission of students to the University or prescribing the examinations to be recognised as equivalent to University examinations; (b) the courses of study to be laid down and examinations and the conditions on which students shall be admitted to examinations for the degrees, diplomas certificates and titles of the University; (c) the grant of exemptions. (2) All regulations shall have effect from such date as the *[Academic Senate] may direct but every regulation made by the *[Academic Senate] shall be submitted, as soon as may be, to the *[Executive Council] for approval by a simple majority or refer it back to the *[Academic Senate] for reconsideration. 38[(3) Notwithstanding anything in sub-sections (1) and (2), it shall be competent for the *[Executive Council] to
