No person shall be qualified for nomination as a member of any of the authorities of the University if he: (a) is at the date of nomination of unsound mind, a minor, a deaf-mute or is suffering from leprosy; or (b) applies to be adjudicated as an insolvent or is an undischarged insolvent; or (c) has been convicted and sentenced by a criminal court to transportation or imprisonment for a period of more than one year for an offence involving moral turpitude unless such sentence has been reversed or the offence has been pardoned or a period of five years has elapsed from the date of the expiration of the sentence.
