CHAPTER .4 AUTHORITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY The following shall be the authorities of the University, namely:- (i) the Governing Body; (ii) the Board of Management; (iii) the Academic Council; (iv) the Examination Committee; (v) the Faculties; and such other authorities as may be declared by the Statutes to be the authorities of the University. (1) The Governing Body of the University shall consist of the following members namely:- (a) the Chancellor as Chairperson; (b) theVice-Chancellor; (c) five persons, nominated by the sponsoring body out of whom two shall be eminent educationists for three years; (d) one expert of skill development, management or lnformation Technology from outside the University, nominated by the Chancellor for three years; (e) two persons, nominated by the State Government for three years not below the rank of a Joint Secretary; (f) the Registra who shall be the Member Secretary. (2) The Governing Body shall be the supreme authority of the University. (3) The Governing Body shall have the following powers, namely:- (a) to provide general superintendence and direction and to control the functioning of the University by using all such powers as are provided by this Act or as specified in the Statutes, Ordinances, Begulations or rules made thereunder; (b) to review the decisions of other authorities of the University in case they are not in conformity with the provisions of this Act or the Slatutes, Ordinances, Regulations or rules made thereunder; 14
