Powers and Functions of the Chairperson.- (1) The powers and functions of the Chairperson shall be,- (a) to ensure that the administration of the affairs of the Institute are being conducted in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations and to take such steps, as he deems fit; (b) to call for such information or records relating to the administration of the affairs of the Institute; (c) to review the academic progress of the Institute and to ensure whether the same is aligned with the objects of the Institute; (d) to help the Institute in establishing linkages with world-renowned academic institutions; (e) to include in the agenda at any time before or during a meeting, fresh items of business or items supplementary to those included in the agenda for consideration; and (f) to exercise such other powers and perform such other functions, as may be prescribed under the regulations or may be delegated to him by the Governing Board. (2) The Chairperson may delegate any of his powers to the Director of the Institute. (3) The Chairperson shall preside over the meetings of the Board of the Institute.
