The Pro-Vice-chancellor.-(1) The Pro-Vice-chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor in consultation with the Vice- chancellor, (2)The Pro-Vicc-cbancellor shall hold tiffice for a pcriod of three'years anci lrall be eligible for re-appointment for a second term. (3) The conditions of service of the Pro-Vice-chancellor shall be such as may be prescribed by the Statutes' (4) lf the Chancellor is satisfied, on an enquiry made ot caused io be made on a representation made to him or otherwise' that the continuance of Pro-Vice-chancellor in his office is prejudicial to the interestlof the University or the situation so warrantsl he may, by an order in writing and stuting the reasEns therein fcir doing so, ask the Pro-Vice-chancellor to relinquish his office from such date as may be specified in the order: Provided. that before taking an action under this suh' section, the Pro-Vice-chancellor shall be given an opportunity of being heard. (5) Tlre Pro-Vicc-chancellor shall assist thc Vicc- chancellor in such matters as are assigned to him by the Vice- chancellor from time to time and shall excrcise such porvers and perform iuch functions as may be delegated to him by the Vice- chancellor. 15, The Provost.-(l) The Provost shall be appointed by the Vice-chancellor for such leriod and in such mamer as may be prescribed by the Statutes.
