The Following shall be the Authorities of the University. namely : — (1) the Senate ; (11) the Syndicate ; (11) the Academic Council : (iv) the Faculties : (v) the Boards of Studies ; and (vi) such other authorities. as may be declared by the Statutes, to be the Authorities of the U versity. HH. (1) The Senate shall consist of the following members, namely :— (1) the Vice-Chancellor ; Chairperson (ti) five Trustees. to be elected Members by the Trust (1) two emineny academicians. Members to be nomimated by the Trust PUNJAB GOVT GAZ. (EXTRA.), MAY I5, 2008 (VYSK 25, 1930 SAKA) (iv) three eminent experts, one from agriculture, one from industry and one from business, to be nominated by the Trust: (v) heads of the Institutions, affiliated to the University : (vi) all Ex-Vice-Chancellors of the University: (vii) all the Deans of the University : (viii) (wo persons, to be co-opted by the Senate : (ix) (x) (xi) heads of the Boards of Studies ; two persons being academicians from outside the University, to be elected by the Syndicate ; and (i) one nominee of each institution, donating to the University rupees ten lacs or more : provided such donation has been accepted by the Syndicate. Members Members Members Members : the following powers and functions, namely MemberS Members Members Member (2) The tenure of the menbers of the Senate, other than the exofficio memberS, shall be two years. 89 (3) A member. other than the ex-officio member, may resign by a letter. addressed to the Chancellor. (4) The fellowship of any member, who ceases to hold otfice by virtue of which, he became such a member. shall stand cancelled. (5) When a vacancy occurs in the Senate by resignation or death of a member or otherwise. the vacancy shall be filled up in the same manner, in which such a member had become the member of the Senate.
