Any person, who has been,- (a) convicted of an offence punishable under any law for the time being in force; or Transfer of a prisoner to another State or Union Territory. Prisoners to be searched and examined on admission, exit and re-entry. Search of prisoners. Taking measurements of prisoners for the purpose of identification. PUNJAB GOVT. GAZ.(EXTRA), MAY 21, 2026 (VYSK 31, 1948 SAKA) 597 (b) ordered to give security for his good behaviour or maintaining peace under section 136 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, for a proceeding under sections 126 or 127 or 128 or 129 of the said Sanhita; or (c) arrested in connection with an offence punishable under any law for the time being in force or detained under any preventive detention law, shall, if so required, allow his measurement to be taken by a prison officer in such manner, as may be prescribed by the Central Government or the State Government.
