2[The State Security Commission shall perform the following functions and make recommendations to the State Government and the recommendations so made shall be binding on the State Government, namely: —] 1Substituted by Punjab Act No. 19 of 2018, Section 5 2Substituted for words “The State Police Board shall perform the following functions namely” by Punjab Act no.19 of 2018, Section 6 Functions of State Security Commission. (a) to aid and advise the State Government in discharge of its functions and responsibilities under this Act; (b) to frame broad policy guidelines for promoting efficient, effective, responsive and accountable policing in accordance with the law; (c) to review and evaluate organizational performance of Police Service in the State; and (d) to identify shortcomings regarding infrastructure and equipment in police.
