(1) whereas circumstances exist which render it necessary to take action in providing for the supersession of those Panchayat immediately before the date of commencement of this Act, stand superseded: 1[Provided that the period of supersession shall not exceed beyond the 23rd Day of April ,1994.] (2) The provisions of section 105 of the Act shall as far as may be, apply to such supersession and during the period of supersession the powers and duties of the Chairman of the Panchayat Samitis or Zila Parishads, as the 1Substituted for proviso 'fourteen years and three months' by Punjab Act no.26 of 1993,section 2 Short title and commencement Definitions Supersession of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads case may be, under the Act or the rules framed there under shall be exercised and performed by the person or persons appointed under clause (b) of sub-section (1) of the said section.
