(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the State Power to issue Government may, if it considers appropriate in public interest, it may, by an directions order, published in the Official Gazette, issue policy directions to the University or annul any proceeding of the University, which, in its opinion are not in conformity with the provisions of this Act and statutes : Provided that before annulling any proceedings of the University, the State Government shall call upon the University to show cause why such an order should not be made and the University shall be given an opportunity to explain its view point with regard thereto. (2) Every order passed under sub-section (1), shall, as soon as may be, laid before the State Legislature.
