Limitation for launching prosecution. - Prosecution offence under. Period of limitation for launching prosecution is one year from date of alleged offence unless special sanction is given by State Govt. extending the period of limitation. In any case, maximum period of limitation is three years under Section 468 (2) (c) of Crimlpal Procedure Code. Prosecution launched after three years. Proceeding illegal and quashed.
