Procedure for trial under the Punjab Excise Act. - Under section 5 of the Criminal Procedure Code, all offences under the I.P.C. are to be investigated, inquired into, tried and otherwise dealt with according to the provisions contained in the Criminal Procedure Code and all offences under any other law are to be investigated, inquired into, tried and otherwise dealt with according to the same provisions, but subject to any enactment for the time being in force regulating the manner or place of investigation, inquiring into trying or otherwise deal- ing with such offences.
