(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in Statute 18, the Executive Council may appoin'men', invite a person ofhigh academic distinction and professional attainments to accept a post of Professor or ~ssociate Professor or any other equivalent academic post in the University on such terms and condilions as it deems tit and on the person agreeing to do so appoint him to the post: Provided that the Executive Council may also creaksupernumerary posts far aspecified period for appointment of such persons: Provided further that the number ofsupernumerary posts so created should not exceed five per cent. of the total posts in the University. Sec.I] THE GAZEITE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY 29 (2) The Executive Council may appoint a teacher or any other academic staff working in any other University or organisation for ~uldertaking ajoint project in accordance with the manner laid down in the Ordinances.
