( 1 ) A Department of Extension Education 8dUc"i0nm shall be established and maintained by the University for the purposes of- (a) undertaking extension education pro- grammes in different Blocks constituted under theOris~aPanchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad Act, 1959, gradually orism Acll covering the entire State in such manner 01 1960. as may be-determined by Government in consultation with thc Board ; (6) colIection of information from thc field ; (c) rendering assistance to the people in solving their problem relating to agri- cuIture j ((0 dissemination . . of knowled-ge j and (e) such other purposes as may be prescribed. (2) There shall be. a Dean of Extension Education who shall be a 'whole-time officer of the University.
