(1) The Chairman shall be nominated from one of the Trustee of the Sponsoring Body and who shall be head of the University. (2) The Chairman, during his absence, may, by order in writing, designate the Vice- Chairman to act as the Chairman of University, for such period and for such functions and responsibilities as he may specify. (3) The Chairman shall preside at the meeting of the Board of Governors and in his absence, the Vice-Chairman shall preside at the said meeting and any decision resolved in that meeting shall be given effect to only after obtaining the approval of both Chairman and Vice-Chairman. (4) The Chairman shall have the following powers, namely:- (a) to preside at the Convocation of the University when the Visitor is not present; (b) to call for any information or record; (c) to appoint and remove the Vice-Chancellor; and (d) such other powers as may be conferred on him by the Act or the Statutes made thereunder.
