Keeping in view of the above aspects and in order to realize the overall goals of the Long-Term Action Plan, it is necessary to streamline and strengthen the Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services with a focus on delivery of specialized services which needs an organizational structure capable of meeting the new challenges. The present organizational set up of the DAH & VS has been restructured to meet the emerging need of better animal health care and livestock production in the State. Considering the need to streamline livestock production and animal health care of the State and overall goal incorporated in the Long Term Perspective Plan, the proposal for restructuring of OVS cadre was under active consideration of Government for sometime past. After careful consideration, the State Government has been pleased to restructure OVS cadre in the following manner.
