(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Panchayat Samiti Act, the Omco Chairman of Sahacapada Panchayat Samiti holding oEce as such with cffcct from Chairman. the 20th day of May, 1977, shall cease to hold ofice with effect from the appointed date. (2) nc powers and functions of the Chairman who ceases to hold office: uflder sub-section (I) shall be exercised by the Subdivisional Officer havrng juris- dlmon aver the concerned bIock until the newly elected Cbaiman assumes ofice.
