In this Act, unless the context otherwise reqwes,- (a) "appointed date" means the date appointed by the Govcrnmcnt by noti- fiwtion, for the purposes of this Act ; Orissa Act (b) "Panchaydt Samiti Act" means the OrIssa Panchayat Samiti Act, 1959 7 1960.
