Power to call for reports from municipality :– The Magistrate of the district or any officer or person whom the State Government may empower in this behalf may– (a) call for any record, register, or other document in the possession or under the control of any Municipality or the Executive Officer; (b) require any municipality or Chairperson to furnish any return, plan, estimate, statement, account or statistics; (c) require any municipality or Chairperson to furnish any information or report on any matter connected, with such municipality; and 152 THE ORISSA MUNICIPAL MANUAL (d) record in writing for the consideration of any municipality or Chairperson any observation they or he may think proper in regard to its or his proceedings or duties.
