Municipality may with the consent of owner take over and repair works :– A municipality may agree with the person in whom the property in any road, bridge, tank, ghat, well, channel or drain is vested to take over the property therein, and after such agreement, may declare by notice in writing put up thereon or near thereto, that such road, bridge, tank, ghat, well, channel or drain has been transferred to the municipality. Thereupon the property therein shall be vested in the municipality and such road, bridge, tank, ghat, well, channel or drain shall henceforth be repaired and maintained out of the Municipal Fund.
