Immovable property required by the municipality may be acquired under Land Acquisition Act, 1894 :– When any immovable property is required for the purposes of this Act, or for the recoupment of the cost of carrying out any such purposes, the State Government may, at the request of the municipality, proceed to acquire it under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894), and on payment of the compensation awarded under that Act and of any other charges incurred in acquiring, it, and said property shall vest in the municipality.
