The functions of the Corporation shall be:- FnnctIon. (i) generally to promote and assist in the rapid and orderIy establishment, growth . , and develo~ment of industries, trade and commerce in the State, and (ii) in particular and without prejudice to the generality of clause (i) to- (a) establish and manage industrial estates at places notifid by the State Government; .- (b) develop industrialarasnotibed by the State Government for the purpose and make them available for underrakings to establish themselves; (c) undertake schemes or works, either jointly with other corporate bodies or institutions, or with Government or IocaI authorities, or on an agency bclsis, in furthemce of the purposes for which the Corporation is established and all matters comected therewith; (d) provide or =use to be provided nmenilies and common facilities in industria1 estates and industrial areas and construct and maintain or cause to be maintained works and buildings thereof; (e) make available buildings on hire or sale to industria.1is.t~ or persfins intending to btart industrial undertakings; CT) constflct buiIdings for the housing of the employees of such industries and emkloyees of the Corporation.
