Failure of Grama Panchayat to take steps for recovery of dues :– In case of default on the part of the Grama Panchayat in taking steps for recovery of the dues as aforesaid, the Sub-divisional Officer may take steps for the recovery of such dues on behalf of the Grama Panchayat in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder, and, subject to the deductions on account of the costs of realisation, shall credit the proceeds to the Grama Fund : Provided that no action shall be taken under this Section by the aforesaid authority unless the Grama Panchayat, having been given an opportunity of expressing its views in the matter and allowed reasonable time to make good its default, has failed to do so.
