False assumption of MedicalPractitioner of Practitioner under this Act to be an Offence: Any person who falsely assumes that hi is medical practitioner or practitioner as defined in Clause (6) of Section2 and practices themodern scientific system of medicine, shall be punishable with rigorous imprisonment whichmay extendup to three years or withwhichmay extend up to Rs. 20,000 or with both. Explanation- Under this section, punishment can be awarded only to medical practitioners as defined in section 2(6) of this Act and no punishment may be awarded to any one practicing Veterinary medicine or Veterinary surgery or Homoeopathic or the Ayurvedic or the Siddha or the U m i System of Medical or those holding BAMS or BIMS degree.
