A Certificate, Diploma or a Degree or any other academic distinction shall be granted to. or conferred upon. a student only after he has undergone the relevant course or programme of study for the duration prescribed therefor and passed the same with qualifyng marks prescribed therefor by the regulations. Award of honorary degrees I 1. The University shall have the power to confer at honorary degree of academic distinction ofthe University on any person for his eminent attainments and position, it the Governing Council approves by majority arecommendation ofthe Academic Council passed by two-thirds ofthe membership of the Academic Council for doing so.
