Constitution of Medical Council : 1) The State Government may constitute a Medical Council for the State to be called “the Mizoram State Medical Council” and the Council shall be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall by the said name, sue and be sued. The Council shall consist of the following members, namely : (a) Two members to be nominated by the State Government; (b) Five members to be elected in the prescribed manner by the registered practitioners practising in the State from amongst themselves; (c) One member to be nominated by the Director General of Health Services of the Government of India; (d) One member to be nominated by the Medical Council of India; (e) The Director of Health Services and the Director of Hospital & Medical Education, Mizoram (ex-officio); 2) The President and the Vice President shall be elected in the manner as may be prescribed by the members of the Council from amongst themselves.
