(1) The Vice-Chancellor, if he considers necessary, may The Pro-Vice- appoint a Pro- Vice-Chancellor from amongst the professors Chancellor. of the University. (2) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor appointed · under. sub- section (1) shall discharge the duties in addition. to his duties as a Professor. (3) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall hold office at the pleasure of the Vice-Chancellor. (4) The honorarium for the Pro- Vice-Chancellor shall be as may be prescribed in the Ordinances. (5) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor shall assist the Vice- Chancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by • the Vice-Chancellor .ili this behalf from time to. time and shall preside over the meetings of the University in the absence of the Vice-Chancellor and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned or delegated to him by the Vice-Chancellor.
