(1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal executive, and academic officer pf the UniverS?fy and. shall,. i.µ the absence, of the Chancellor, preside at the convocations of the; University. 1 : (2) The :Vice?ChanceUotsh.al\be ex-officio C?an of the Board and Academic Council. ' . ' I . , (3) The ,Vfoe-Cliancellor shall· 1· be responsible for presenting to the·Bdard·forits deliberations and consideration , . ' . I . , matters of concern to the University. He shall have power to• convene the meetings of 'the Board and'. the Academic, Council. (4) The Vice-Chancellor shall exercise general control over th,e affairs of the l,Jniversity and· shall be responsible for the due maintenance of.disci.f>lin? in th? University. ' (5} The Vice-Chancellor shall ensure the faithful, opservance of the provisions of this Act and the Statutes. and I _ I - I the Ordinances- and shall possess all such powers as may be necessary for the purpose. Where any action taken by the Vice-Chancellor under sub-section (6) affects· any;person in :the service of the University to- his disadvantage, .such person may prefer an appeal· to the Board within thirty days of the date on! which the action is communicated to him. . · (8) Subject as aforesaid, the Vice-Ch?cellor shall give effect. to the orders of the Board regarding the appointment, suspension and , dismissal of officers, teachers and other employeesof the University.
