Definitions.-. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- {a) "appointment" means direct appointment or appointment of an official by promotion; (b) "Commission" means the Manipur Public Service Commission; (c) "local authority"' means local authority as specified in the Schedule appended to this Act; (d) "State Government" means the Government of Manipur.
