( 1 ) The Academic Council shall consist of the Vice-Chancellor and such other members as may be prescribed by the Statutes. ( 2 ) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the ex-officio Chairperson of the Academic Council. ( 3 ) The Academic Council shall be the principal academic body of the university and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules, Statutes or Ordinances made thereunder, co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic policies of the university. ( 4 ) The quorum for meetings of the Academic Council shall be such as may be prescribed by the Statutes.
