( 1 ) The Executive Council shall constitute Selection Committee for making recommendations to the Executive Council for appointment to posts of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and other teachers in the university. ( 2 ) The Selection Committee shall consist of the following members :- ( i ) the Vice-Chancellor, who shall be the Chairman of the Committee ; ( ii ) the Head of the Department concerned, if any, provided he holds a post not lower than the level of the post for which the selection is to be made ; ( iii ) three experts for selecting Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst a panel of names recommended by the Academic Council and approved by the Executive Council. ( 3 ) The meeting of the Selection Committee shall be convened by the Vice-Chancellor whenever necessary. The Vice-Chancellor shall preside over the meetings of the Selection Committee. Three members of whom one shall be the expert of the Selection Committee shall form the quorum.
