Registrars to reside in the respective districts.— (1) Every Registrar shall reside within the district of which he is a Registrar and shall cause his name, together with the words “Registrar of Birth and Deaths for the district of” to be affixed in some conspicuous place at or near the outer door of his place of abode. (2) A list showing the name and place of abode of every Registrar in 2[Brihan Mumbai] shall be kept at the Municipal Office and shall be open at all reasonable times to public inspection free of charge.
