Penalties for breach of byelaws- (1) In making a byelaw under Section 427 the Corporation may provide that a breach or any abatement of a breach of it shall be punishable- (a) with fine may extend to five thousand rupees and in the case of a continuing breach, with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees for each day during which the breach continues after conviction for the first breach; or (b) with fine which may extend to ten rupees for every day during which the breach continues after receipt of written notice from the Commissioner to discontinue the breach. (2) In lieu of or in addition to such fine, the Magistrate may require the offender to remedy the mischief so far as in his power.
