Power of Government to direct the closing of any place for the disposal of the dead.- (1) If After personal inspection, the Commissioner is at any time of opinion that any place used for the disposal of the dead is or is likely to become injurious to public health, he may submit his opinion with the reasons therefore to the Corporation and the Corporation shall forward the same with its opinion for the consideration of the Government. (2) Upon receipt of such an opinion the Government, after such further enquiry as it deems fit to make, may by notification published in the Gazette and in such newspaper as it may deem necessary, direct that such place shall no longer be used for he disposal of the dead. (3) on the expiration of three months from the date of any such notification, the place to which its relates shall no longer be used for the disposal of he dead. (4) Private space set apart for burial may be exempted from any such direction subject to such conditions as the Commissioner may impose in this behalf, provided that the limits of such space are sufficiently defined and that it shall only be used for the burial of members of the family of the owners thereof.
