The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, remove from office any member of the Commission who-- (a) is or becomes subject to any of the disqualifications mentioned in Section 6; or (b) in the opinion of the Central Government has failed or is unable to carry out his duties; or (c) absents himself from three consecutive meetings of the Commission without the leave of the Commission: Provided that before issuing any such notification, the Central Government shall give an opportunity to the member concerned to show cause against such removal.] Inserted by Act 12 of 1987, Section 5 (w.e.f. 24/07/1987).
