In any area to which this Act applies, the Government may, by notification, declare that from such date as may be specified therein, the Corporation or a standing committee thereof or the Commissioner of the Corporation shall not exercise or discharge any powers or functions under the Travancore Town Planning Act, 1108, and that subject to such restrictions and modifications, if any, as may be specified in the notification, (i) the powers and functions of the Corporation or a standing committee thereof under the said Act shall be exercised and discharged by the Board; and (ii) the powers and functions of the Commissioner of the Corporation under the said Act shall be exercised and discharged by the Chairman.
