The Chief Customs Officer or any other Officer authorised by the Government in this behalf may detain any package brought, whether by land, sea or air, into the state of Travancore-Cochin which he suspects to contain any newspapers, books or other documents of the nature referred to or described in section 41, sub-section (1) and shall forthwith forward copies of any newspapers, books or other documents found therein to such officer as the Government may appoint in this behalf to be disposed of in such manner as the Government may direct.
