Powers and duties of the Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer shall have the following powers and duties, namely:- (a) the general supervision and control of the officers and staff of the Welfare Fund; (b) the Executive Committee shall be represented by the Chief Executive Officer and he shall sue and be sued in its name; (c) the Chief Executive Officer shall be the authority for issuing orders of transfer and postings of the officers appointed under Section 11 of the Ordinance; (d) the Chief Executive Officer may sanction expenditure for contingencies supplies and services and purchases required for administering the Fund, subject to the limits up to which he may be authorised from time to time by the Executive Committee; (e) the Chief Executive Officer may also exercise administrative and financial powers other than those specified above as may be delegated to him by the Executive Committee; (f) the Chief Executive Officer shall with the approval of the Chairman, issue notice to convene meetings of the Executive Committee and shall keep the records of the minutes of the meetings and take necessary steps for carrying out the decision of the Executive Committee.
