The Vice-Chairman.–(1) An eminent educationalist, preferably a former Vice-Chancellor, shall be appointed by the Government as the Vice-Chairman of the Council. (2) The Vice-Chairman shall be the executive head of the Council. (3) The Vice-Chairman shall preside over the meetings of the 4[Executive Body] and shall preside over the meetings of the 5[Advisory Body] and the 6[Governing Body] in the absence of the Visitor and the Chairman, as the case may be. (4) The Vice-Chairman shall exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be prescribed.
