Appointment, powers and duties of the Directors of Regional Centres.—(1) There shall be four Regional Centres of the University for academic purposes in four centres as determined by the Government on the recommendation of the University. (2) Every Regional Centre shall have a Director. (3) The Syndicate shall appoint a person as the Director of the Regional Centre as may be prescribed by Statutes and he shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University: Provided that, the first Director of the Regional Centres shall be appointed by the Government from the Universities established in the State by State law or teachers from the Government or Aided Colleges on deputation basis. (4) The term of service of the Director of the Regional Centre shall be equal to the term of service of teachers of the University. This is a digitally signed Gazette.
