(1) No dispensary, hospital, infirmary, lying-in-hospital, sanatorium, surgery, nursing home or other similar institution shall employ any person as a nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife or health visitor or dhai unless such person is a nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, health visitor or dhai registered under this Act. (2) Whoever contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable with fine which may extend to fifty rupees. (3) Whoever after having been convicted under sub-section (2) continues to contravene the provisions of sub-section (1) shall on conviction be punished for each day after the previous date of conviction during which he continues so to contravene with fine which may extend to five rupees.
