Section 19

Period of limitation for prosecution under Act

Period of limitation for prosecution under Act.—No Court shall take cognisance of, or convict a person for, any offence against this Act or any rule thereunder unless complaint thereof has been made within six months of the date on which the offence was committed. In computing the period of six months aforesaid, the time, if any, taken for the purpose of obtaining the previous sanction of the Inspector under sub-section (2) of section 18 shall be excluded.
