Section 12

Corrections to the final rolls

Except or as provided by or under this Act, no correction shall be made in the roll after it has become final, provided that the Settlement Officer having jurisdiction for the time being may, at any time before the payment of the amount or annuity, as the case may be, payable under section 4, either of his own motion or on application filed by a person interested, correct any clerical or arithmetical mistake or any error arising therein from any accidental slip or omission: Provided that no such correction shall be made without giving an opportunity of being heard to the party who may be affected thereby.
